Investment funds in the country seem to have left behind the difficult moment they went through in 2022, growing within the nine months of this year by more than 30 million euros. Meanwhile, the number of their members has also increased.

According to the official data of the Financial Supervision Authority, the number of members who have invested in Investment Funds on 30.09.2023 is 31,281 with an increase of 8.07% compared to 31.12.2022. Only in the third quarter of this year, the number of members has increased by over 1,200, seeing that by the middle of this year, their number was 30.77. The volume of funds invested through them showed almost the same trend.

According to the official data of the Financial Supervision Authority for the market of investment funds on 30.09.2023, the net value of the assets of the Funds reached about ALL 44.76 billion with an increase of ALL 3.29 billion or 7.94%, compared to the end of last year .

The gradual but stable growth during 2023 comes after the negative developments that this market suffered last year due to the strong increase in inflation. Its increase resulted in several consecutive interventions by the Bank of Albania in the basic interest rate, the increase of which invalidated, leading to negative territory, returns from investment funds. This was accompanied by rapid withdrawal of funds from many investors.

The number of members fell from 40,054 to 28,953 within the year, while assets from 73 billion ALL fell by 47% to 38.6 billion ALL, or almost halved. However, we are still far from last year's figures, when the number of members was over 40 thousand, while the total assets of the funds were over 73 billion, while this year there are 31 thousand members and 44 billion ALL of assets.
