A serious incident has occurred in Santorini where a young Albanian, 19-year-old, has lost his life while working. The 19-year-old Albanian lost his life after the ceiling of a building collapsed on him while he was working in a cave-like property in Imerovigli. The incident brings to the fore the unsafe working conditions in the construction sector.

Greek authorities have launched investigations to clarify the full circumstances of the accident, and the owner of the facility and the person in charge of the works have already been arrested. The event is not related to any seismic activity, although Greece has recently experienced various earthquakes.

Such tragedies raise concerns about workplace safety, especially for migrants who often work in difficult conditions and with insufficient protective measures.
