The Court of Appeal has released from prison the businessman from Elbasan, Shaqir Alcani, who together with his lawyer son, Algert Alcani, and two of their friends threatened the winner of a timber tender with his life.

Father and son Shaqir and Algert Alcani, as well as their friend   Edmir Boçi, appealed the decision of the Court of Elbasan, which imposed "house arrest" for the 62-year-old and "prison arrest" for the two 37-year-olds.

They had requested the change of the decision and the appointment of the measure of personal security as "Compulsion to appear before the judicial police".

But the Court of Appeal has upheld the decision of the Court of Elbasan, releasing the 62-year-old from the cell and leaving his son, Algert Alcani, and their friend Edmir Boçi in prison.

According to the Court's decision, Shaqir Alcani must not leave the apartment where he will be sheltered and not communicate with other people except those who live with him in the apartment where he will be sheltered for the execution of this decision.
