The police continue not to come up with an official version regarding the disappearance of Ervis Martinaj to confirm or reject speculations regarding his capture and elimination by opposing groups.

Martinaj is not a figure at all, but for years he has "reigned" in the sports betting sector, reaching a fortune that is thought to be up to 600 million euros.

But, while the "telenovela" Martinaj continues, not even a month has passed since his disappearance, the discussion about the reopening of sports betting in the country has begun.

A day ago, a hearing was announced between the government and stakeholders in this sector, such as sports federations, interested in the taxes to be paid from this activity, but also important personalities interested in being in this themselves. "big game" that circulates hundreds of millions of euros per year.

The argument is that as long as betting is being played illegally, then let's legalize it so we can collect the taxes!

This may seem a sustainable argument at a time when the state treasury needs as much money as possible as the country is facing an energy crisis, while there are reports of scary "jumps" of the Public Debt, however the time when this started discussion seems very strange.

This whole argument is also based on the warnings of the investigative journalist Artan Hoxha a few days ago, who said that one of the causes that led to the organization of a large criminal group against Ervis Martinaj was precisely the gambling market.
