Pope Leo XIV is currently celebrating Easter Mass in the Vatican.
Meanwhile, in his homily on Easter Eve, Pope Leo XIV makes a strong call for peace and openness, comparing conflicts and walls erected between states to modern "tombs" that hold the hope of humanity prisoner.
"On Easter morning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, "overcoming pain and fear, set out on their journey"; "in the earthquake and in the angel sitting on the rolled-back tombstone, they saw the power of God's love, stronger than any force of evil, capable of 'dispersing hatred' and 'breaking the harshness of the powerful'". This was expressed, among other things, by Pope Leo XIV in the homily at the Easter Vigil Mass presided over in St. Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican.
