SPAK calls the former Minister of Finance Shkëlqim Can as a witness for the sterilization concession. Journalist Klodiana Lala reported for "BalkanWeb" that the former minister will be questioned as a person who has knowledge about this concession that has led several people to prison.
The contract for the sterilization of surgical equipment is one of the 4 projects of the Public-Private Partnership with budget support in the health sector, originating from the governance program of Prime Minister Edi Rama after he came to power in 2013.
The contract was signed in December 2015 between the former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqja and the concessionaire company SaniService - whose shareholders are Investital LLC and the Italian companies "Servizi Italia", "Tecnosanimed" and "U.Jet Srl".
The largest package with 40 percent of the shares is owned by Investital LLC - a small company founded with a capital of 1 thousand euros in Kosovo by Ilir Rrapaj.
The investigation documents also show that the Ministry of Health predetermined the provision of the service with a concession and was faced with the reluctance of the former Minister of Finance, Shkëlqim Cani to approve it.
We remind you that SPAK has issued 8 arrest warrants, with different measures, two with the measure of 'imprisonment' for the former Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rjepaj and businessman Ilir Rrapaj.
Meanwhile, for two other officials, the measure of 'house arrest' was set, and for 4 others, the measure of 'obligation to appear' was set.
