The Court of Criminal Appeals rejected today the request of the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, who requested the lifting of the security measure.

At the entrance to SPAK, the lawyer said that the former president can only be released if no warrant has been issued.

Lawyer Cakrani told Top Channel, "I requested the dismissal with a number of arguments, one of which is that the detention deadlines have passed and the second is that the investigations have been closed."

Meanwhile, two of the prosecutors in the case who requested that former President Meta be kept in prison were also present at the session.

The former president is accused of corruption, concealment of assets and money laundering, as well as his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi and 3 other people.
