The person in the photo is Flori Paluçi, the 33-year-old (now a victim himself) suspected of being the perpetrator of one of the murders that occurred this morning in Manëz, Durrës.
Flori Paluçi appears to have a criminal past. He was arrested earlier in 2015 in Italy, as part of a structured gang of robbers who operated in a sophisticated manner in several Italian cities.
The group consisted of 6 Sicilian citizens and Paluçi as the only Albanian, who were identified by the special method they used for robberies: opening holes in the walls of businesses to penetrate them.
Investigations into this group began in the summer of 2014, after two violent robberies of jewelers in Ravenna and Alfonsine, where within a 20-day period, the perpetrators managed to take items worth around 200,000 euros.
In one of the cases, the robbers even confronted the store owner, holding a toy gun to scare and neutralize the victim, and then fled with a significant amount of valuables.
The conflict today in Manzë started over coffee. Kurti was sitting at the table with Daniel Pepa, 21, who had asked the waiter to prepare a coffee, but this was not possible because the espresso machine was turned off.
After that, the person who was sitting with the waiter, 33-year-old Flori Paluçi, intervened in the argument and took the gun, shooting Aran Kurti and leaving him dead on the spot. Then, Daniel Pepa, Kurti's friend, reacted by shooting and killing 33-year-old Paluçi.
