The neighbor cut down the trees/ The billionaire takes "revenge",

A millionaire, once a police commissioner, appears to have 'taken revenge' on his neighbors by building an 8m high wall of grass blocks, blocking their view of his $25 million estate. Landowner Stephen Bett, 69, a former police and crime commissioner for Norfolk, erected the barrier after the 95 trees he planted were cut down overnight.

The line of giant blocks, located close to the boundary of his Norfolk property, covers the entire 60m width of the back garden of his neighbor Maxine Turner's bungalow. The wall has deprived 78-year-old Turner of the view she had of the horses at Bett's 18th-century mansion in Thornham, Norfolk.

Her son John Turner, 50, who lives with his mother as her carer during the week, accused Bett of planting the grass as "an act of anger".

But Mr Bett, who was Norfolk's independent PCC from 2012 to 2016, said he did not want to see his neighbors 'barbecuing and leaving their underwear on the wire'.

He added: “ To be honest, I don't want to see these people in their gardens, barbecuing and eating their entrails.

They've cut their hedges to get a look, but it's not a good look to me. Why should I watch what they are doing? They don't seem to care about their privacy, but I prefer privacy, so I put up a protection, and that's what I did ."
