The new director of Opera and Ballet is appointed, who was chosen from among 7
Abigela Vogshtina

The new director of the National Opera and Ballet Theater will be violinist Abigela Voshtina. Her name was signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, after a contest attended by 6 other candidates besides her. Abigela Vokshi will replace Zana Çela in this post.

Abigela Voshtina on her platform mocked, among other things, the lack of a two-year season of Opera, as well as cooperation with the Municipality of Tirana. In fact, Voshtina has been the Artistic Director of TKOB, and it was the artists of the TKOB Symphony Orchestra who wanted her to leave in 2017. They also filed a petition accusing him of using the post for personal gain, violating regulations, communication problems, etc. But the head of the Albanian government has signed for Abigela Voshtina, making her director of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet.

Arben Skënderi, Abigela Voshtina, Tomorr Kokona, Adela Muçollari, Josif Gjipali, Zana Çela and Kleanthi Gjika were the seven candidates in the race. The Commission for the Evaluation of Candidacies has chosen two names and proposed them to Prime Minister Rama.
