The Special Appellate Panel today dismissed the judge of the Administrative Court of Appeal, Rilinda Selimi. The body headed by Sokol Çomos, with rapporteur Rezarta Schuetz and members Natasha Mulaj, Albana Shtylla and Mimoza Tasi found Selimi as inappropriate in the criteria of the figure.

According to the decision, the judge had contacts with a person with the initials FD, whose past had been among the penalizing elements in the re-evaluation of Selimi's husband, made the judge inappropriate.

According to the KPA, FD, although convicted only for "failure to report a crime", had been investigated since 2013 for drug trafficking. The panel reasoned that the judge's contacts with this person were not accidental, but that they had family ties. In the end, the Panel reasoned that Judge Selimi did not reach a credible level in terms of the criterion of "purity of image" and that she should be dismissed.

Rilinda Selimi, a judge at the Administrative Court of Appeal, was confirmed in office on 14 December 2020 by the body of the Independent Qualification Commission headed by Pamela Qirko, with rapporteur Lulzim Hamitaj and member Olsi Komici. But the International Monitoring Operation immediately recommended an appeal of the decision, arguing that the KPC had not investigated or superficially investigated some of the judge's problems affecting all three re-evaluation criteria.

Based on this recommendation, the Public Commissioner appealed the case and requested the dismissal of Selimi. Earlier, the KPC and the KPA also dismissed Shkelzen Selimi, the judge's husband and a former judge in the Supreme Court, for contacts with persons involved in organized crime.
