After a 2-year investigation, by the AMP (Police Supervision Agency) and the Lezha prosecutor's office, the court has ordered the security measure of 'imprisonment' for two former police officers of the Lezha police station who are accused of abuse of office, as it is suspected that they have allowed the cultivation of cannabis.
In the context of the court's decision, the police have arrested and handcuffed Serxhio Xhamallot, 27 years old, a police officer with General Patrol duties at the Lezhë Police Station, as well as wanted his colleague, Klisman Nikolli, 28- years old, as well as a former police employee with the duty of General Patrol at the Lezhë Police Station. Both former police officers have left the State Police since last year.
Klisman Nikolli is not an unknown name to the police, since in November last year he was arrested in Italy for theft. After the arrest in Italy, the young man was dismissed from the ranks of the State Police
Also, the court has ordered 'prison arrest' for two young men, Klajdi Luka, 28 years old and Eduart Çarku, 30 years old, both suspected of cultivating narcotics. The police have arrested Klajdi Luka, while Eduart Çarku has been declared wanted.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Taulant Balla sees it as proof that the police have cooperated by favoring cannabis growers, and the fight to destroy this joint has started today and will continue.
"The State Police is cracking down on rooting out illegal cultivation from the minds of those who lie to themselves that since there is less cannabis today than yesterday, we will rest on our laurels! Today, along with the illegal roots, two police officers in the Local Police Directorate in Lezhë, who were in partnership with the traffickers, were also uprooted," Balla declared.
