Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been forced to take refuge in a bunker due to Houthi rebel missile attacks on Riyadh, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The capital's international airport was hit again on Sunday, leaving three dead and 11 injured.

The attack came just 24 hours after the deadliest strike on Saudi Arabia in a decade, when a missile hit King Khalid International Airport, killing 13 people and wounding hundreds more.

Following the escalation of the conflict between the Saudi-led coalition and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mohammed bin Salman, 41, has been staying in fortified palaces equipped with bunkers for six days, under the protection of a select security team.

Meanwhile, schools in the capital have been closed and learning is taking place remotely, due to the intensification of attacks.

Trump has left open the possibility of American intervention against the Houthi rebels. Asked about US involvement, he said he would consider the possibility.

Sunday's attacks have been condemned by the UK and the European Union. British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting called the missile attacks unacceptable and a dangerous escalation of the conflict.
