The coach of the Albanian National Team, Silvinjo, spoke at a press conference one day before the important World Cup Play-Off match against Poland, emphasizing the importance of this match for the red and black team.
The Brazilian coach said that Albania has made significant progress compared to 2023, but underlined that the opponent has also evolved in the same way.
He described the match as one of the most important for the National Team.
"We have improved a lot as a team since 2023, as has Poland. As for whether it is the most important match for Albania and for me as a coach, of course we have the experience of the European Championship, we have also played important matches like against Serbia, which also had geopolitical implications, but I believe that the match against Poland is one of the most important," said Silvinjo.
The red and black coach praised the opponent, while emphasizing that this is one of the most important matches for Albania. Among other things, he emphasized that the Poles are strong as a group, refusing to single out striker Lewandowski.
"In 90 minutes, anything can happen. We always have the fans by our side. As for the match in Tirana, the past is the past. It was another moment. It will be a difficult match. We need as few mistakes as possible. It has nothing to do with the first match. It is a different match.
"Lewandowski is a very good striker, one of the best in the world. There is a good team around him. The whole team needs to be careful. He can be dangerous, but they are all dangerous. We need to be careful."
Asked by reporters if he would sleep tonight, when we are one day before the match, the coach responded with humor: "I haven't slept in two months."
Regarding the formation and activation of players like Muçi, Pllana and Shehu, who are familiar with the Polish championship, Silvinjo said that he has not yet decided definitively: " I don't know who will be on the field, but I am happy with all three."
In the end, he emphasized that anything can happen within 90 minutes and that the support of the fans will be a key factor for Albania in this decisive match.
