Today, Sali Berisha held a meeting with residents of Lazarat, following his meetings held in the district of Gjirokastra.

During his speech, Berisha said, among other things, that he sent a message to Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that no one can destroy Lazarat, as he said that he will do everything so that the aspirations and potentials of this village have the prosperity they deserve.

The President of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha was received with enthusiasm and with shouts of "Rama ik" in Lazarat. The square was filled with DP flags and many residents and children had gathered to welcome them.

"Welcome to your home" greeted the residents as they remembered the action of the former Minister of the Interior Saimir Tahiri

" I know the sufferings of this village. It has suffered for 12 years for a living. Saimir Tahir's police attacked us and today they are sending us to prisons, because Lazarat was born and will be a democrat all his life," the village headman told him.

"What Edi Rama did to Lazarat, Napolon Zerba did to Çameri. Edi Rama closed our houses. My children are emigrating to Europe," said another resident.

"He entered a village with machine guns and tanks. Terrible crimes have been committed but justice will come one day.

"They lit Lazarat on fire and we, as wise and patriotic people, did not respond in the way they responded. Lazarat was sentenced to 500 years in prison and we still endured" said other residents of Lazarat. For his part, the chairman of the DP called on the citizens to engage politically in order to overthrow Rama.

"I have come here to you, to pledge before you, that with your deputy, with Dasho Aliko, who at a critical moment when the regime attacked you with ferocity, stayed with you and was not defeated. I have come here to promise that your potentials will have the prosperity they deserve. Let's oust this regime as soon as possible and establish democracy in Albania. "I tell Edi Rama that there is no force to dissolve Lazarat. The most brutal dictatorship tried to do this and they ended up in the dustbins of history and Lazarat remained the bastion of freedom "
