The meeting called yesterday by Berisha with the lecturers has turned into a theater of insults and insults between each other. Such is the debate between Ilirjana Kuçana, a member of the National Council called by Foltorja, and Mirdaim Axham, a DP militant and responsible for the department at the Faculty of Economics.
From the debate, it is clear how the lecturers who are part of the DP structures are trying to uplift the lecturers and the students. Kuçana said that it is a selfish request to go out and ask for a salary increase for lecturers and take students with you, citing the example of the Faculty of Economics.
But that was enough and her colleague reacted, who stated that Kuçana is not a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics this year.
Ilirjana Kuçana : For me, it's a selfish request to go out and say I demand an increase in the teachers' salary and take the students with you. This does not happen. I am a lecturer very close to the students and we must raise causes and raise our spirits.... We must have a concrete plan.
I cannot accept that there are deans or rectors in the academic world today in 2020 who can claim that they can threaten. Here I have the head of the department who was at the protest yesterday, so it didn't happen. You have deputy Dean Ilir Alimehmet. I guess the threat part is part of the justification...
Mirdaim Axhami: Since Mrs. Kuçana addressed me, I have known Ilirjana for a long time. Ilirjana is an external lecturer at our faculty. External lecturers have not yet been approved for this academic year.
Until now, Ilirjana has not been involved in any meeting, neither the department, nor the dean's office, nor the senate, and I suggest that she not take it upon herself to explain what happens in the Faculty of Economics, where I am both the department head and a member of the senate. It shows who lies and who is honest...
I don't want to go over the situation in the Faculty of Economics or the University of Tirana. I am not even denigrating that there are plenty of those who deserve it, although I am not pretending that they accept it. We know that our leaders, how strong or capable they are to encourage the academic staff to protest, we are not claiming such a thing.
The situation is not clear with the protests and with the unions, the result has always been in question, it has its own doubts. It is not that we are pretending that this protest will bring us to power. We have to go to a more macro level for this, we are supporting it to the fullest.
