Farmers who do not work the land will be penalized. This is what Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed during a meeting with farmers in Fier.
Rama added that not a single centimeter of uncultivated land should be forgiven, as according to him no country allows this. According to him, as much as the land is private, it is also public property and cannot be left fallow.
"They show us that in so few years, compared to so many inherited problems, we saw that we can make it together. Today we still have uncultivated land, but we must not spare a single square meter of agricultural land. That's why I asked the deputies to sit down with you and work with the Ministry of Finance to set a legal norm that those who don't work the land, can't leave it fallow and sit comfortably and say don't rent it, s I give it to someone to work because I want to surround it and keep it with garbage. No country allows this, because the land is as much yours, private, as it is public property. Agricultural land cannot be left with manure, barren" , said Rama
