Klodiana Spahiu reacts after being officially appointed as Minister of Health

Klodiana Spahiu has officially taken office as Minister of Health and Social Welfare. In her first reaction after taking office, the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament thanked Prime Minister Edi Rama for the trust he has placed in her, as well as her colleagues from the Socialist Parliamentary Group for voting in support of the president's decree.

Through a post on social media, Spahiu also listed some of the priorities he intends to pursue as the ministry's leader. The transformation of medical services, the improvement of hospital infrastructure, and the increase in the quality and access to health and social services are among her stated objectives.

The new minister emphasized that the citizen will be at the center of policies and decision-making, while she described taking office not only as a responsibility, but also as a "mission" to continue reforms in the health sector.

In her Facebook post, Spahiu writes:

" I am very honored to officially assume the position of Minister of Health and Social Welfare, starting today.

At this important moment, I would like to express my special gratitude to Prime Minister Edi Rama, for the trust he has given me, as well as to my colleagues in the Socialist Parliamentary Group, who voted in favor of the President's decree appointing me to this position of great responsibility.

I take on this task with great responsibility, but also with the belief that I can contribute to furthering the work and reforms undertaken in the field of health and social welfare.

Healthcare has always been a field that I have been and remain very connected to. Therefore, this task for me is not simply a new responsibility, but a mission and an ambition to energetically continue the path of reforms.

Our objective is clear: transforming medical services, improving hospital infrastructure, increasing the quality and access to health and social services, always placing the citizen at the center of every policy and decision-making.

Taking on this task also coincides with the start of a new parliamentary session, at an important moment for Albania, when we are closer than ever to our major objective: membership in the European Union.

With dedication, responsibility and work, we will continue this journey together, for a modern, quality, accessible and dignified healthcare system for every citizen.
