The government has reacted again after the publication of an audio recording by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who raised accusations of an international arms trafficking scheme involving Albania.

The Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations, Eriona Ismaili, refused to comment on the content of the audio recording, but addressed Ahmetaj himself.

Ismaili has called on the former deputy prime minister to return to Albania and face justice.

Eriona Ismaili: I feel like giving an answer to the statements of those who have escaped from the justice of the Republic of Albania. It is a request that I want to make directly to the person who released these interceptions, as if he has the courage to throw scum on the projects of the Albanian government, to find the courage and come to face the Albanian justice. I feel like giving an answer to the statements made public by people who have disappeared in their scum.

Even in an earlier reaction, the government called the statements of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj rumors.

What did Arben Ahmetaj declare?

"It's self-explanatory. We're talking about international arms trafficking. And not within the framework of the agreement, in the eyes of NATO, that Albania has with Ukraine. No. We're talking about arms trafficking from African countries, which will be packaged in Albania, or which are packaged in Albania, and which then take their way... We're talking about pure arms trafficking ," Ahmetaj declared.

It is about a 3-hour wiretap in Monaco, where the American-Israeli, Ron Yeffet is one of the main people mentioned. In the conversations, according to the material published by Ahmetaj, Yeffet communicates with other people about companies, tenders, military equipment. Also, according to Ahmetaj, the conversations show the relations with Albanian institutions and those of other countries and the role they have had.

In one of the published sequences, Ahmetaj highlighted a conversation where, according to him, the way in which competitions and tender procedures can be bypassed through the creation of KAYO-type companies in Albania is discussed.
