Ilir Alimehmeti is one of the names mentioned as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana by the Democratic Party. And while it seems that there is support in social networks, Dr. Alimehmeti does not seem to have the support of the structures of the blue headquarters.

Alimehmeti said tonight that he will officially wait for the start of the primary process to announce his entry or not in the race for the capital.

Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit", Alimehmeti said that he met with Mr. Berisha, but did not give details of the conversation between them.

He considered the support he received from the community an honor and a privilege.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be supported by the community. I say this because in the end we will think of this discussion and position as a service to that community. We have a process called primary which is important because it is openness and it is beyond membership. It goes to the voters because we all have a feeling, they imposed on us, we are tired, etc., etc., this process puts a lid on these elements and gives space to anyone and goes to that population for analysis who will then decide and they will decide for the candidate who has the values ​​and will serve them better".

Furthermore, Alihmehmeti stated that the primaries are the first time that they take place in the Balkans and this cannot exclude problems with it, but according to him this is the only way to go united against this machine.

"Such a big push from such a wide community that goes beyond logic we have to have a united throne and we are sure that against a machine we have to go united and that is decided through primaries. I am a person who sees the side as an official document. Things must be done properly and seriously. With the primaries, the campaign has opened, it is not a short campaign. Let's not forget that the last campaign for the municipality was only 50 days, here there is a much greater preparation in a field different than the one we had before. The field is different from the past 8 years that we have in front of our eyes. The primaries must be serious and transparent".
