The youth protest in Tirana has escalated in the evening hours. Violent clashes are taking place between protesters and police forces, from the Ura nbi Lana Bridge to the Ministry of Interior.

During the evening, the lights on the boulevard were turned off, while protesters threw fireworks and Molotov cocktails at the officers. Some of them even tore up paving slabs from the sidewalks to use in clashes with the police.

The situation has become even more tense after a fire broke out in a closed kiosk near the "Frashëri Brothers" flower garden. The flames have also spread to surrounding trees, while smoke has covered the boulevard area.

Clashes resumed with bursts of fireworks and the use of tear gas by police, while protesters have dispersed to several segments of the capital.
