US President Donald Trump said he believes Russia is helping Iran "a little bit", citing US support for Ukraine as a possible justification.

In an interview with Fox News on Friday morning, Trump was asked if he thinks Vladimir Putin is supporting Iran after the US-Israeli attacks on the country.

He expressed himself thus:

"I think maybe it's helping him a little bit, yeah. And maybe he thinks we're helping Ukraine, right? Yeah, we're helping him too. So he says that, and China would say the same thing. Actually, they do it and we do it."

On the other hand, British Defense Secretary John Healey said that Putin's "hidden hand" is behind Iran's military methods.

He explained that Iranian drone pilots and Iranian proxies are increasingly using tactics "like the Russians."

Since the US-Israeli attack on February 28, Iran has launched over 2,000 Shahed drones, long-range weapons that Russia has used extensively against Ukraine, into the Middle East.

Recently, reports from the Washington Post and other media outlets indicated that Moscow was supplying Tehran with information on US military assets in the region.

However, Putin denied any Russian involvement during a phone call with Trump, according to US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
