The US administration of Donald Trump is considering the possibility of using special forces to intervene in Iranian nuclear plants and remove enriched uranium.

According to Axios' sources, the special forces could be working alongside scientists and possibly the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The goal is to secure material that could be used to produce nuclear weapons.

The US considers the 450 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium a major threat, as it would take just weeks to make it into a weapon. Uranium is used for reactor fuel, but it could also be used for nuclear weapons.

Preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is one of the main goals of Trump's policy, and seizing this uranium is considered key to achieving the objective.
