Russia bombed a blood transfusion center in northeastern Ukraine, killing and injuring people.

The news was announced by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, who did not provide details on how many people were killed or injured in the attack in Kupiansk, in the Kharkiv region.

"This war crime alone shows everything about Russian aggression," said Zelensky, while Russia has not given any comment.

The attack came just a day after Moscow alleged that a Russian oil tanker was damaged by a Ukrainian drone strike in the Kerch Strait, near a bridge linking Russian-annexed Crimea with Russia.

The town of Kupiansk and surrounding areas fell under the control of Russian troops in the early days of Moscow's full-scale occupation of Ukraine in February last year, but were liberated during a Ukrainian counter-offensive in September.

In the Black Sea, attacks have increased since Russia refused to continue an agreement brokered by Turkey and the United Nations (UN) to export Ukrainian grain by sea.
