One of the most famous battalions of the Ukrainian army, that of AZOV, has been re-formed after heavy losses suffered in more than a year of war.
Recently, Lt. Col. Denys Prokopenko, commander of the Azov Brigade and Hero of Ukraine, has reunited with his soldiers in this battalion.
Although it has been at the center of the "Nazi show" controversy, the soldiers of the Azov battalion were among the first to face the Russian army. A part of them were involved in the great battle for the city of Mariupol, where for several days they resisted surrounded inside the "Azovstal" plant.

Many of them were killed, and many others taken prisoner, as the city fell to the Russians.
Thanks to the exchange of hostages of war, but also new recruits, the battalion has filled its ranks again and is ready to return to the battlefield.

Four soldiers of this battalion were released from Turkey, where they were hostages of war, as part of an agreement with Russia.
