Following a statement by US President Joe Biden, who criticized the gaza war and called it wrong, came a response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He told Politico that Biden was wrong.
"He is wrong," Netanyahu said, denying that Biden was acting against his country's interests. Last Saturday, Biden said he believes Netanyahu "does more harm than good to Israel," commenting on his approach to the fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu said his policy is supported by "the overwhelming majority" of his countrymen.
"If the U.S. president thinks that I am pursuing a personal policy against the wishes of Israelis and harming my country's interests, he is wrong in both respects," Netanyahu said, responding to criticism leveled at Joe Biden, saying his actions "are doing more good than harm" and urging him "to pay more attention to the palestinian situation."
