Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky returned today from Ankara together with five fighters of the "Azov" battalion, who were in Turkey since last year as part of a prisoner exchange agreement.

The five servicemen defended the industrial city of Azovstal last year, until they found themselves surrounded by large Russian army forces. Many soldiers of this battalion lost their lives during that battle, and many more were taken hostage by the Russians.

"We are returning to our homeland together with our five heroes," Zelensky wrote as he also published a short video on social networks. He returned from Turkey after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

However, Moscow's official reaction was immediate, claiming that Turia broke the agreement by releasing the Ukrainian soldiers without informing them beforehand.
