Finnish Foreign Minister: Possibility of sending soldiers to Ukraine is not
Elina Valtonen

Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has not ruled out sending foreign troops to Ukraine. She added, however, that at the moment there is no need for something like this to happen.

Valtonen made the comments during an interview with the Financial Times. "Now is not the time to send troops to the ground, and we are not ready to discuss it at this stage. But for the long term, of course we should not rule anything out" said the Finnish minister.

Macron has previously said a foreign deployment to Ukraine was not ruled out as a possibility. He added that the statement he has made was very carefully thought out.

Macron said if the idea was implemented, French forces would not go on the offensive against Russia.
