US Secretary of State Marco Rubio posed for a photo aboard Air Force One, en route to China, wearing the Nike Tech suit now known as that of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The latter wore the gray suit during his escort to a federal prison in the US on January 3 after being arrested in Caracas.

"Secretary Rubio wears Nike Tech 'Venezuela' sweatpants on Air Force One!" White House Communications Director Steve Cheung wrote on his X account, posting a photo of Rubio leaning against one of the presidential plane's doors.

The photo quickly went viral on social media and was shared primarily by Republican activists and White House officials.
