Visa liberalisation, political class in Kosovo expectclarity from Germany

Position and opposition demand from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz a clear message for visa liberalisation, support for the Berlin Process and intensify efforts to reach a final agreement with Serbia.

Vetevendosje Movement MEP Mep, Mehmed Rexhaj, tells KosovaPress, that the German chancellor should say "the left is enough" and liberalize visas for Kosovo citizens at the MEETING of the EU Council of Ministers in late June.

Support from European leader Rexhaj also seeks membership in the Council of Europe and dialogue with Serbia.

"The German Chancellor hopes to say the same phrase on the grounds that Kosovo that the weather has met the conditions that have been required for visa liberalisation and this issue has been extended. We are in the final stages when European Union countries have to say yes to entering this phase... Add here we who have applied to the Council of Europe and as seen through the lobbying and statements of the presidents and prime ministers of Europe we have support for membership in this organisation... We are in favour of an agreement, for recognition at the centre as Prime Minister Curtis has, but we are not to defunkionize the state of Kosovo," he says.

Schollz's visit to Kosovo also sees AAK opposition MP Time Kadrijaj as useful.

It calls on Kosovo institutions to exploit the moment of international support to push forward topics like visa liberalisation and dialogue.

"They are welcome, we are pleased that world leaders, in this case, the Chancellor of Germany has expressed a desire to visit Kosovo. We have allies and friends and normal that they welcome their advice, too. It is a good availability for the visa liberalisation issue, apart from some countries that have reluctance on the issue of visa liberalisation, some are in electoral processes... On the issue of dialogue, our countries, such as an emissary from the United States, are involved, which we have the greatest and main ally. Fortunately we have an emissary, the same one we have from Germany and Great Britain. We must use this momemtun and from technical dialogue to be passed on in technical dialogue," she says.

On the other hand, epic institute director Demush Shaha presents the three main messages the German chancellor can address during the visit to Kosovo.

"Chancellor Schollz wants to underline that this region is of particular importance to him personally as chancellor. The second message is in terms of the importance of the stability of the region and the continuation of its path towards the EU. This message in particular will be strengthened in the sense of developments taking place in Ukraine, against this background the chancellor will underline the importance of advancing the Berlin Process and its goal that in the second part of this year to hold the next summit of the Berlin Process. This will be his second message that regional co-operation is important and the key tool will be the Berlin Process. The third message will be as far as the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is concerned as one of the most important elements of regional stability. Here the German chancellor will repeat what he has said in Berlin that as soon as it is important that dialogue for normalisation of relations is advanced, he adds.

Chancellor Schollz's office for KosovaPress has not declaredly confirmed the visit to Kosovo, but have restated a statement from the European leader that before the next meeting of the EU Council he will stay to visit the Western Balkans.

Prime Minister Albin Curtis, weeks ago, had an official visit to Germany, where he was hosted at the meeting by Chancellor Schollz.
