Middle East crisis escalates: US sends aircraft carrier and 2,500 marines to

The crisis in the Middle East is escalating. The United States has deployed the aircraft carrier USS Boxer along with a Naval Expeditionary Unit of 2,500 Marines, on the 21st day of the war against Iran.

The decision comes after an Iranian ballistic missile attack that hit Old Jerusalem, near the Western Wall and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Meanwhile, Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, in his Iranian New Year message spoke of a "resilient economy" and strengthening relations with neighboring countries. He warned that the Iranian people are more united than ever in the face of attacks.

Iran also issued new threats against American and Israeli officials, saying they “will not be safe anywhere.” Israel continues airstrikes on Iranian targets, while reports speak of new clashes in Lebanon between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.
