Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, declared that the US and Israel have made a "big mistake" regarding the Iranian people's reaction to the recent attacks.
In an official statement, he said that opponents believed that after a day or two of attacks, Iranian citizens would overthrow the government, but this, he said, turned out to be a miscalculation.
Khamenei said the war was launched on the "illusion" that eliminating key figures in the regime and some military leaders would create fear and despair among the population, paving the way for the domination and even disintegration of Iran.
However, according to him, the opposite has happened. An "unusual unity" has been created among citizens in the country, despite religious, cultural, political and ideological differences.
He added that while Iran has united in the face of challenges, "rifts" have appeared in the adversary's camp, hinting at divisions or disagreements between US allies and Israel.
The statement comes at a time of escalating tensions in the region, where political rhetoric and military developments have significantly increased uncertainty, while Iranian authorities try to strengthen internal cohesion and public support.
