The NATO mission in Iraq has been temporarily withdrawn from the country, two Iraqi security officials said.
"There is no disagreement" with the Iraqi government, an official said on condition of anonymity. "It is a temporary withdrawal. They are concerned about the situation," he added.
Another official stated that "the entire NATO mission has been withdrawn," except for a small number of personnel.
On Friday, a NATO spokesman confirmed that the military alliance is "adjusting" its mission in Iraq.
The mission is headquartered at an Iraqi military base in Baghdad's Green Zone near the US embassy, which has been targeted several times since the start of the war.
