The conclave elected him, but who is the new Pope?

Cardinals elected a new Pope today at the Vatican. The secret ballot was successful on the second day, with white smoke rising from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel.

But who is the new Pope? Here's how it will proceed from this moment:

After the Pope is elected, the Dean of the College of Cardinals asks him: "Do you accept your canonical election as Supreme Pope?"

If he accepts, he must establish his papal name. The cardinals will pledge allegiance to the new Pope.

He will then be taken to the adjacent Chamber of Tears, where he will change from his bright red cardinal's robes into a white papal mascot. Small, medium and large mascots are usually made in advance.

This time it is thought that the Vatican is recycling mascots made for previous conclaves.

The new Pope is then taken to the main balcony of St. Peter's Basilica to greet the crowd, where the famous words "Habemus Papam" will be uttered.

When Jorge Bergoglio, who became Pope Francis, was elected in March 2013, his identity was revealed about 45 minutes after the white smoke billowed as he appeared on the balcony above St. Peter's Square.
