President Donald Trump began his term by issuing executive orders pardoning hundreds of his supporters, who were jailed for the January 6, 2021, protest at the Capitol.

He also commuted the sentences of 14 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, who were convicted or charged with conspiracy to commit insurrection in connection with the violence on January 6.

Trump then announced that he had pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, a dark web marketplace, who was imprisoned in connection with the sale of illegal drugs on the "Dark Web" platform.

Already on social media, mainly on Twitter, thousands of users are calling on Trump to pardon former police officer Derek Chauvin.

Chauvin was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of George Floyd, a black man, during his arrest. Images of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's neck went viral and sparked months of violent protests in many US cities under the slogan "Black Lives Matter."

It is worth noting that Trump has not mentioned or promised that he expects to fire Chauvin.
