Former German Minister for Europe, Michael Roth, reacted sharply to Ivica Dacic's statement that the Serbian flag will one day fly in Prizren, calling it a clear territorial claim against Kosovo.

In a post on social media, Roth expressed concern over the statements of the Serbian interior minister, who is also Serbia's deputy prime minister. But he also reminded Belgrade of what it risks with such statements.

"Poor Serbia! Ivica Dacic wants the Serbian flag to fly over Prizren. Territorial claims against a neighbor leave me speechless," Roth wrote, further reminding Serbia that such positions not only do not bring it closer to the European bloc, but on the contrary, lead it in the opposite direction.

"This path leads to war. It does not lead to the European Union. No more EU money for Serbia!" was his message. The former German minister further addressed voters in Serbia, calling on them, on the eve of the October 25 elections, to reflect on the political direction they are supporting.

Earlier, Kosovo's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, had criticized this statement by Dacic as well as Milan Radoicic's public appearance at the rally of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Kragujevac.

In a reaction on the X platform, Konjufca stated that these developments prove the continuity of Serbia's territorial aims towards Kosovo and the lack of accountability for the armed attack in Banjska in September 2023, for which he described Radoić as the organizer.
