Houthi rebels in Yemen have repeated a warning to airlines, transport companies, airport workers and travelers, urging them to avoid Saudi Arabia's airports and airspace due to the risk of new attacks.

The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, stated in a post on the social network X that Saudi airports remain exposed to possible strikes and could become targets of operations by his forces.

However, he made an exception for the airports of Mecca and Medina, stating that these two cities are not included in the attack warning.

Saree also warned that Saudi Arabia will be held responsible for the consequences of any failed attempts to intercept incoming attacks.

"An airport for an airport, a blockade for a blockade, and escalation for escalation," is the principle by which, according to the spokesman, the Houthis will continue their campaign until their objectives are met.

The warning comes after a wave of attacks on Saudi airport infrastructure, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where a recent strike caused 12 deaths and over 300 injuries, according to reports from Saudi aviation authorities.

The escalation of attacks has raised concerns about the security of air travel in the region, with several airlines canceling or suspending flights to Riyadh.
