The Director General of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, resigned from his post this Friday. Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that he has accepted Hoxha's resignation request.

It is also reported that the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, appointed Fehmi Hoti as Acting Director General of the Kosovo Police.

"In accordance with the legislation in force, Prime Minister Kurti, following the proposal by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, appointed Acting Director General of the Kosovo Police, Mr. Fehmi Hoti."

"The Government of the Republic of Kosovo appreciates the contribution and commitment of Mr. Hoxha throughout his mandate," the government statement said.
