Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is prepared for a possible conflict with Europe, but stressed that Moscow does not want such a war and supports efforts to restore relations with European countries.

Speaking after contacts with the leaders of Norway and Finland, Putin said Russia remains ready for any scenario, but warned that a military confrontation between Russia and Europe would have no winners.

"We are ready, but we do not want any war with Europe. If some of them want to prepare for war, let them do it," the Russian president declared.

According to the Telegraph, he also referred to the preparations of some Western countries for a possible conflict with Russia in the coming years, recalling that he had previously stated that Moscow has no plans to start a war against Europe.

"If it comes to a war between Russia and Europe, there will be no winners," Putin said, calling on European countries to "not forget this."

The Russian president added that the West has not achieved its objective of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, despite pressure and support for Ukraine.

Putin's comments come at a time when tensions between Russia and NATO remain high. According to international media reports, a US intelligence report released over the summer warned that Russia could test NATO's resolve on the alliance's eastern flank through limited military action or cyberattacks.

Also, according to reports in the British newspaper The Telegraph, Moscow is expected to seek concessions regarding NATO's presence in Eastern Europe during the next rounds of peace talks in Ukraine. Putin has called NATO expansion one of the main causes of the conflict.

Meanwhile, the Russian leader announced that the phone conversations with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre took place at the initiative of the European side and described them as a positive step towards dialogue.

On the other hand, Western officials continue to warn of security risks in the coming years.

British Defense Secretary Wes Streeting recently stated that Britain must prepare for future military challenges and strengthen its defense capabilities to deter any potential aggression.
