The Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has decided to confiscate 100% of the shares of RTV ORA, owned by businessman Ylli Ndroqi.
Today's decision of GJKKO includes the confiscation and state ownership of RTV ORA.
Although it is a decision of the Court and cannot be commented on, what is universally known is the fact that ORA News is closing due to the breakdown of the agreement with the government and important exponents of the majority.
This is not the first case, as earlier the Government arbitrarily closed the Agon Channel television of the Italian businessman Francesco Beketi.
But it is not the last case either, since as Vox News learns, the prime minister has ordered the establishment of a 'Task Force' by the Tax Directorate to control five more televisions.
It is known that News 24, Fax News, Syri TV, ABC News and Vizion Plus are on the list.
Taxpayers have appeared in the newsrooms of the media and in an unprofessional manner are contacting the employees asking questions for the State Security.
It asks employees to account for their income, why they agree to stay in a low-wage job when the market, according to them, has higher payments, etc.
Of course, Taxes are in their right and televisions, like any business, must be correct with the declaration of income and balances.
But what must be said is the fact that we are not in the case of a control to establish order and law enforcement, but we are in a pure pressure that the prime minister is putting on the media.
This is proven in all international reports where Albania is losing more and more ground with freedom of expression every year.
Sources from the government inform that a report was made to the prime minister by his propaganda agency and according to them no television is positioned with the government. This has led Rama to use verbal force as a beginning that will lead to closure, as is the case of Ora News today.
In recent days, Edi Rama has been involved in a public clash with the largest television in the country, Top Channel, due to the fact that this television has had some chronicles critical of the government.
This time, Rama has chosen to blackmail by intimidating the media that he is hitting him for profit, but he does not say a word whether the criticisms are true or false.
With this path that has started, the prime minister seems to be determined to put the ERTV logo on all Albanian screens.
