The most corrupt sectors according to EC

The anti-corruption measures of the Government and the body led by Ulsi Manja in the Ministry of Justice have not been efficient in roads, properties, customs, tax administration, education, health and tenders.

This is the finding of the progress report of the European Commission, which was presented this Wednesday.

"More actions are needed and a strategy based on general analysis of the problem must be drawn up. Internal controls and inspection mechanisms of the public administration remain weak and ineffective. Corruption prevails in health, the property sector and in the ranks of the police," the report states.

According to the report, the anti-corruption unit set up within the Ministry of Justice and directed by Ulsi Manja has not shown efficiency.

The report criticizes PPPs and demands that the government reduce their costs below 5 percent of GDP. The cost of PPPs for 2021 has not yet been published by the Ministry of Finance, which has not submitted the annual concession analysis report to the Assembly.
