About 7.1 million mWh of energy were produced during the 10-month period of this year from all generating sources in the country, exceeding the amount generated during the entire last year, where 7 million mWh of energy was generated during the 12-month period. According to data from the Energy Regulatory Agency, the production was dominated by the Drin Cascade hydropower plants with 61.2% of the total energy.
However, the level of Lake Fierza in the Cascade of the Drin River fell below the historical average in the months of August, September and October, as during this period the Albanian Electricity Corporation imported energy to meet consumer needs.
Meanwhile, the production of energy from photovoltaic power stations has continued, although the amount generated continues to remain low in relation to the energy produced from hydro sources. In total, these plants produced 55,678 mWh of energy, marking a slight increase compared to 2022, where 51,260 mWh of energy was produced during the 12 months of these plants.
Meanwhile, total energy consumption for the 10-month period reached about 6.43 million mWh of energy, remaining at almost the same levels as in 2022.
As for the level of losses in the distribution network for the 10th month, it was recorded at 18.7%, while the level of receipts, until the month of October, results in 99.3% of the invoices generated by the Electricity Distribution Operator.
