Why SPAK should clarify the identity of Ilir Meta before his investigation

The former president of Albania Ilir Meta can be found before the criminal offense of falsifying his identity. It is about his use at different times of his two names, Ilir Meta and Ilir Metaj. According to a decision of the Supreme Court in 2012, when Ilir Meta was a defendant, he was identified, investigated and tried under the name Ilir Meta. In a judicial process, where you declare your identity, it is also verified with an auxiliary document, such as a passport or identity card.

It is normal for Ilir Meta to have presented his passport with the name Ilir Meta to the judges of the Court.

So far, no decision has been made to change his name, and the diplomatic passport he presented may have been produced according to the information he self-declared in the capacity of prime minister or deputy in the 90s, when there were not many strict rules for this matter.

A similar scandal has also happened with Fatmir Mediu, who was provided for a long period with a diplomatic passport under the name Fatmir Medihoxha, because he was wanted by Italian justice.

The same thing may have been done by Ilir Meta, who was haunted by his past.

But here the problem is aggravated from the legal side, since Ilir Meta has signed important decrees and decisions with this name and can turn them into "null", if it was not his official name. I do not mean that thousands of decorations go to waste, but important decisions of the Albanian state, since the person in question has been prime minister, speaker of the Assembly, and president, with that name.

This leads us to believe that he had an official document with the name Ilir Meta, but that he had it illegally. And that penalizes him. The prosecution should investigate the civil status register and obtain copies of the identification documents that he submitted under the name of Ilir Meta, when he ran for deputy or when he started working in the highest institutions of the country, wherever he used them. those.

In this situation, if he had this regular identity, i.e. he changed his name from Ilir Meta to Ilir Metaj, he violated the decriminalization law, as he did not declare the name change on the form, while after 2015 he did filling out forms with the last name Metaj.

But the most serious thing will be if he has used another means of identification (with the last name Meta), which is found in the institutions where he has run, and in the meantime there is no request from him, plus a decision of the competent body, to change the last name. Then his situation is even more serious, because he has created and used a forged identification tool.

We understand his real predicament, which has to do with the problem of his past, but in this state he is in, he must clarify whose law he violated, the law of decriminalization by not declaring his two identities, or the law of forging official documents, using a false identity. That the nicknames of Sigurimi are not valid in the state. They are for the operator only.

In addition, SPAK has a file under investigation for him and his family and we are not clear whether it is investigating him as Ilir Meta or Ilir Metaj. That it may happen that after the investigation is over and it is established that Ilir Meta has received suspicious funding from a corrupt activity related to a family member of his, he can say "I'm sorry but I'm Ilir Metaj".

So that SPAK, having that file in hand, should deal with the foundation and the proof of his identity. So that it doesn't get saved for some letter at the end and in the end it is said that Ilir Meta does not exist. As said about video with sound and picture.
