Widely known by his political name Ilir Meta, in official documents after 2015, Ilir Meta has started to declare himself with his old name Ilir Metaj.

Sali Berisha with the old name registered as "Salih" had a similar confusion with his two birthdays, the real one on July 1, 1944 and the other one on October 15, which brought him closer to hopefully merging his birthday with Enver Hoxha. But he was forced to declare as corrected.

According to point B, "the non-declaration of any generality according to this point that may hinder the verification according to the provisions of law no. 138/2015 constitutes a criminal offense according to article 190 of the Criminal Code.

He graduated with the surname Metaj, then entered the parliament with the surname Meta and produced a diplomatic passport with this name and this generality for years. Thus he is widely known in the public opinion as Ilir Meta.

His sudden turn began after the approval of the law on files in 2015, when he suddenly signed Ilir Metaj on the asset declaration forms.

So we now have two of his forms, the one from 2010 where he signs with Ilir Meta and the one from 2016 where he signs with Ilir Metaj, while in public he goes by the name Ilir Meta.

So the turning point for him is the year when the law on files is approved, after LSI made an amendment that protects it from verification after it has been checked by the Mezini and Bezhani Commission.

The confusion of Ilir Meta from the approval of the law is obvious and it seems that he tried to create as much confusion as possible around his name, so that in case someone encountered him, he would create the idea of ​​another character.

This gesture creates two problems.

The first problem is legal. With what Ilir Meta has done, he is subject to the decriminalization law and should be prosecuted as he has not declared the existence of his other name. This is simple and verifiable.

But this is a legal issue and it is decided by the Prosecutor's Office that I should consider the publication of these official documents as a fact that can be easily verified.

The other dark side of the problem is that Ilir Meta is panicking about his middle name as he knows that he is incriminated and has tried to create confusion sometimes by using it in formal documents and sometimes by hiding it from public opinion. The confusion that the law of the files has created at that time is clear and has led him to a legal conflict that, although it penalizes him, is not as heavy for them as his past.
