On the morning of May 23, a group of French and Italian tourists, accompanied by an Albanian guide, while enjoying the amazing views of the hills on the island of Sazan, discovered the location of some strange equipment, installed inside some old communist bunkers.

At first they approached them curious by some strange noises. Then they noticed some wired amplifier speakers, which received power from some portable solar mini-panels.

The speakers, according to them, were directed from the Pashaliman military base and the Karaburun naval space to the Mezokanal. The images were conveyed with concern and for this reason they decided to announce the military point of the island. The arrival of the military forces was immediate. They surrounded the area and in the control of other bunkers, some equipment of the same nature was found.

The news spread rapidly in the city of Vlora and as often happens in such cases, allusions, versions and conspiracy theories reach the top, even in the media. A media daily managed to publish a day later photos of these devices and everything started to take on real proportions. The next day, the presence of many local and NATO warships near Karaburun, due to the GRUPEX military exercise, raised further suspicions that some of them may have been there as part of a reconnaissance operation to detect others. suspicious equipment in that area.

From all this event, what I appreciated most from the beginning, was the readiness of some good local and foreign people, who were very dedicated to helping our defense forces. Perhaps unintentionally, or driven by the curiosity of the moment, they took on the quality of patriot and defender of national security interests, qualities which seem somewhat forgotten in our daily actuality. I was then surprised how this news, while taking on sensational proportions in the media, hastened to be prejudiced as conspiratorial, rather than to be refuted or clarified with full transparency.

Pritja për transparence ka arsyet dhe shqetësimet e veta, të cilat për shume arsye kane të bëjnë me elemente të sigurisë kombëtare. Edhe atëherë kur kjo siguri mund të jete cenuar realisht dhe gjerat duhet të mbeten sekret, ligji parashikon transparencën publike, duke detyruar organet shtetërore të deklarojnë publikisht dhe në mënyre zyrtare klasifikimin e kësaj ngjarje dhe informacioneve përkatëse.

Njohës të mire të ngjarjeve të tilla, për rastet ku ato kane ndodhur në vende dhe zona strategjike të niveleve të larta të sigurisë dhe mbrojtjes, siç është ai i ishullit të Sazanit, bazës ushtarake të Pashalimanit, apo kalimeve në Mezokanal, kane arsye me shume për të besuar për aktivitete me prapavije të rrezikshme për integritetin e vendit tone. Në kushtet e një vakumi dhe aludimesh, këto pajisje besohet se mund të jene edhe pjesë e një aktiviteti të mirëfillte spiunazhi.


Rrethanat e kësaj ngjarje, zgjojnë ndjeshmëri, pasi përkojnë për nga ngjashmëria me të tjera zhvillime të mëparshme. Vitin e kaluar, ndërkohë që zhvillohej stërvitja ushtarake Defender 2021, dy shtetas ruse flinin në Orikum dhe mbanin shënime çdo dite mbi manovrat qe zhvilloheshin aty, deri sa u depërtuan nga ana e forcave të anti-terrorit nga Shqipëria. Një e përditshme mediatike italiane “La Repubblica”, lajmëroi para pak kohesh për rrezikun e aktivitetit të një anije misterioze ruse pranë Sicilisë, e cila me 146 eikupazh në bord, kryente aktivitet spiunazhi për çdo operacion apo stërvitje të forcave të NATO-s në atë rajon, duke përgjuar kodet dhe frekuencat e komunikimit. Pentagoni dhe CIA kane botuar së fundi një “Memo” të përbashkët ku i kërkojnë të gjitha forcave të tyre ushtarake të raportojnë për probleme shëndetësore gjatë stërvitjeve, të cilat përngjajnë me simptoma të bombardimit elektromanjetik apo me ultratinguj të quajtur ndryshe “Sindromi Havanes”. Ndërkohë qe lufta hibride qe po zhvillohet këto kohe me frekuence të konsiderueshme, madje edhe në vendin tone, kryesisht nëpërmjet hakerimeve dhe sulmeve kibernetike, janë një fenomen qe u ngrit me mjaft shqetësim edhe vitin e kaluar nga ana e Ministrit të Mbrojtjes Z. Peleshi.

As a NATO country and already declared unfriendly by Russia, especially in the wake of the bloody fighting in Ukraine, Albania continues to remain on the map of high-risk countries for such espionage activities. This is the main reason why the readiness of security protection structures should be high, not excluding here the vigilance of citizens. For this reason, in order not to spread unnecessary panic, I would like the news published the day before about the enigmatic equipment in Sazan to be merely a device commonly forgotten by the army inventory itself, but by no means a sound bombing system, ultrasound or tapping of unfriendly places. The latter would be very worrying for our national security.
