The assassination attempt on Sternenko

A very popular Ukrainian Youtuber, with around 2 million followers and one of the biggest contributors to the US military's drone equipment, has survived an assassination attempt in his country.

Serhiy Sternenko was leaving a building, accompanied by two bodyguards assigned by the state to guard him, when a woman standing quietly at the entrance raised her gun and shot him several times.

Fortunately, he managed to escape, while one of the Ukrainian SBU agents is seen grabbing her hand and handcuffing her. The incident took place on May 1.

Ukrainian media say that thanks to volunteer work and collected donations, Sternenko has donated more than 176,000 drones to the Ukrainian army.

“The attacker of Serhii Sternenko rented an apartment in the residential complex in Kiev, where Serhii lives, and visually supervised him. She received money for the attack from the Russian special services. The suspect is originally from the Odessa region and was born in 1979. Ukrainian special services determined that the Russian special services transferred money to two Ukrainian cards,” Ukrainian media report.
