Four days before he was shot to death by his brother, Dritan Muskurti, he had requested a protection order in the Court of Tirana. The 44-year-old sought protection from his brother, Arsen Muskurti, the same one who on Tuesday afternoon calmly arrived at his business near "Myslym Shyri" street in the capital and opened fire on his brother and sister-in-law Nora Muskurti, hanging them place.
According to official data, the request for an "immediate protection order" was registered on August 26. The court could not examine him, since, although immediate protection was requested, the first court session for him was scheduled for September 6.
On the other hand, for more than 1 year the Muskurti brothers were in a court battle for a significant financial sum related to the ownership of a tourist agency, created together years ago. In this civil process, the victim Dritan Muskurti, in the role of the plaintiff, demanded from his brother Arsen, the return of an amount of more than 17 million new leks. "The obligation of the defendant to return to the plaintiff the amount of 17.3 million ALL as well as interest on this amount from 01.10.2018 until the execution of the obligation", it was stated in the object of the lawsuit. This process started in January of last year in the Court of Tirana, while the next session was scheduled for September 27.
Arsen Muskurti was arrested two hours after the double crime on the charge of "murder due to family relations", a crime for which the Penal Code provides a sentence of not less than 20 years in prison, up to life imprisonment. In the following days, he will appear in court to determine the security measure./ A2CNN
