Albanian products continue to be blocked by the countries to which they are being sent.
After the destroyed peaches in Croatia and tomatoes in Bosnia, today it is the turn of red peppers.
Slovenian media write that the company 'Geaprodukt doo' has announced the withdrawal from the market of red chili peppers originating from Albania, after analyses showed excessive presence of the pesticides acetamiprid, formetanate and flonicamid.
The recalled product has the LOT series: 3505 and was supplied during the period August 24-September 4, 2025. The products were packaged in primary cardboard boxes and secondary PVC.
Customers are advised to return the product or throw it away. The Geaprodukt company, which imported the peppers from Albania, has ordered their immediate withdrawal from the market and has asked customers to return the product to the place of purchase, or if this is not possible, to dispose of it carefully themselves.
The company has also warned consumers who may have consumed or had contact with the peppers to wash their hands thoroughly and if they experience digestive problems or nausea, to seek immediate medical attention.
Agricultural exports from Albania to European Union countries are increasingly facing strict controls on the content of chemical residues and heavy metals in food products.
A few days ago, a quantity of 5,562 kg of peaches originating from Albania was also blocked due to high levels of nickel, beyond the norms allowed by the EU.
The case was reported on August 22, 2025 through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), which notified the National Food Authority in Albania./ Syri
