One of the people who was injured in the clashes with firearms on the streets of Athens, which has already resulted in three victims, died in the hospital.
According to the Greek media, the person who had a car accident during the fight in Patisia in an attempt to escape from the scene died in the hospital this morning.
As it was established by the doctors of the hospital in Patisia, he also had a gunshot wound. The investigators have doubts that he was shot by the young Albanian before the latter was eliminated during the exchange of fire with the Greek police.
How did the event happen?
It all started on Saturday evening shortly after 21:00 in the area of Kato Patisja at the intersection of Georgiou Nazou and Kourtidou streets. A vehicle driven by a woman and a motorcycle driven by a young man collided with each other and this led to an argument between the parties.
During the collision, the passenger of the vehicle of Albanian origin pulled out a gun, shooting at the driver of the motorcycle. As a result, the latter was seriously injured. However, a few meters away, the father of the motorcycle driver was traveling in an Audi vehicle, who got out of the car and shot at the Albanian. The latter opened fire on him, leaving him dead.
Along with the victim, there was another person in the vehicle who, in an attempt to escape, ran out onto the road but was hit by a speeding vehicle. Later, the doctors found in the hospital that he had also received a bullet that was probably fired by the Albanian's gun during the exchange of fire.
After this episode, the Albanian left, stealing a vehicle at gunpoint, heading towards Agioi Anargyrou, where he attempted to rob a gas station in the area. He faced the police on "Demokracia" street where he was killed in an exchange of fire.
Meanwhile, two police officers were injured by the shooting, one of them in the leg and the other in the chest.
