"War" in Athens

Athens was bloodied on Saturday evening by shootings in two different neighborhoods that left two dead and four injured, including two policemen.

The two Albanian citizens killed are known to be Jani T. and Gëzim A., about 30 years old, both with criminal records in the field of narcotics.

The incident first started on "Krotidou" street in the "Kato Patisia" neighborhood, where a "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle opened fire on the driver of a motorbike, seriously injuring the latter.

Behind the engine was an "Audi" type vehicle, inside which there were two people, among whom the father of the victim was at the wheel. Seeing the event, the latter opened fire on the "Mercedes-Benz" car, leaving the boy's assassin dead.

The passenger got out of the "Audi" vehicle and while trying to run away to hide, he was hit by a moving vehicle and was injured.

Meanwhile, another person got out of the "Mercedes-Benz" type vehicle and, with the threat of a gun, stopped a vehicle on the road, robbing it and then ran away with it. He headed to the "Agion Anargiron" neighborhood, where sources say he tried to rob a gas station and a market.

He then went out into the street and stopped a police patrol thinking it was a taxi. As soon as he saw the policemen, he opened fire on them, injuring them, while the policemen also responded by killing the Albanian.

It is known that the two murdered Albanians, who turned out to be friends with each other since they were both in the "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle, were arrested on drug charges in May of last year in Athens.
